INTI is the ancient Inca-word for sun: as for life in general, light is quintessential for film.

Inti Films is an independent Belgian production company co-founded in 1993 by Peter Krüger, which focuses on the production of creative documentaries and art-house films of international relevance.

Inti Films aims to stand out in today’s audio-visual market by producing films that matter, challenge the viewer and makes us wonder about the world and our lives.

Most of our films are international co-productions, financed by public film funds, broadcasters and private equity (the Belgian Tax Shelter etc). Because of its international profile, Inti Films often gets support from the MEDIA Programme and EURIMAGES.

Our films are produced by INTI FILMS VZW and/or INTI PRODUCTIONS BVBA.

INTI FILMS VZW, founded in 1993, is a non-profit-foundation with a clear artistic profile.  The company  produces films which have a great artistic, but limited commercial potential.

INTI PRODUCTIONS BVBA, founded in 2012 by Peter Krüger, is a commercial company who wants to create a long-term synergy between the company’s artistic and commercial resources as the Belgian taxshelter system, public funds and broadcasters.

Both companies are managed by Peter Krüger and employ staff on a freelance basis, which allows us both flexibility and the possibility to engage the best professionals on every field of filmmaking for each individual production accordingly.

FLOW POSTPRODUCTION BVBA (www.flow-postproduction.be), co-founded in 2014 by Peter Krüger, Jules Debrock, Paolo Finotto and Florentijn Bos is a postproduction facility for colorgrading, visual effects, animation and motion graphics. Flow is based in Antwerp and Amsterdam.

Peter Krüger is an independent writer, director and producer who has realised documentary and fiction films as well music-theatre productions. In his work as a writer and director, he often investigates the borders between fiction and documentary.

His feature film 'Antwerp Central' (2011) won the Grand Prize at the International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal. Between 2005 and 2013 Peter made 'N_The Madness of Reason' which has been released at the Berlinale in 2014 and won the Ensor-awards for best Flemish film, best music and best editing in 2015.

He is the founding director of Inti Films, where he produced numerous documentaries and movies and set-up different internationally acclaimed co-productions, often winning awards at international festivals. Krüger is an ACE26 graduate and has gained exhaustive knowledge of film production and built an extensive network within the European audiovisual industry, among others, through participation in several film high-end production workshops of the European MEDIA programme.

Krüger teaches research, financing, and directing creative documentary at the RITCS in Brussels. He is often invited to work as a script consultant for various feature films and documentaries. Since 2003 he is a member of the General Assembly and the Advisory Body of the Flanders Film Fund (VAF).

EPISODE 3 'ENJOY POVERTY' by Renzo Martens opens the 21st festival edition of IDFA on 20th of november 2008.

In this documentary, Brussels based filmmaker and artist Renzo Martens investigates the emotional and economic value of Africa’s most significant export product: filmed poverty. The festival has chosen Episode 3 - 'Enjoy Poverty' as its opening film as this film raises questions about themes also examined elsewhere in the IDFA programme. A striking amount of films this year deal with Africa and the perceptions of this continent presented in the West. Both in terms of its subject mater and approach, Episode 3 - 'Enjoy Poverty' is a film that constantly challenges the viewer, and it will be sure to provoke discussion. The dutch première of Episode 3 - 'Enjoy Poverty' at IDFA, in Pathé Tuschinski, will also mark the opening of the exhibition 'Episode 3' in the Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA).
The Belgian première will be held in the beginning of 2009.

Little Man, Time and the Troubadour

Every country has a national myth, often featuring a legendary king, warrior or martyr who battles for his homeland. These myths play an essential role in the creation of national identity. Featuring various heroes of flesh and blood, Little Man, Time and the Troubadour forms an alternative national myth for small and unrecognized Abkhazia.

Born in Abkhazia and raised in Soviet Georgia, Sipa Labakhua had to flee with his family to Moscow when the USSR collapsed and war broke out early 90’s. Years after his untimely return to his warridden birthplace, Sipa takes to the road with his autobiographical one-man marionette show. While provoking audiences with his own history of displacement and war, he collects the personal memories and dreams of people from different backgrounds: Abkhazian nationalists, Orthodox priests, Syrian refugees, Georgian farmers and Russian hippies.

Bypassing political propaganda and combining elements from documentary, fiction and animation, this road movie sheds a poetic light on a highly topical question in a world that is on fire: what is home, what makes a country?
